COMMISSION INFORMATION

Thank you for your interest in commissioning a bespoke painting. A commissioned artwork is more than a transaction – it is a collaboration, a shared journey between artist and collector. It is a way to create something deeply personal, something that reflects not only my artistic language but also the nuances of your own story.

Each commission follows a carefully considered process, ensuring that the experience is as rewarding as the final piece itself.

My Artistic Process

I exclusively use the finest oil paints, chosen for their richness, depth, and lasting vibrancy. Due to the nature of oil paint, each layer requires time to dry properly, meaning the entire creation process typically spans several weeks.

I always create multiple paintings for each commission, producing twice the number required. This ensures that you have a choice, allowing you to select the piece that resonates most. It also gives me the freedom to work more intuitively, leading to a more fluid, expressive process. Throughout, I will send studio images and updates so you can follow the evolution of your commission and feel involved in its making.

The Commission Process

1. Discovery & Inspiration
We begin with a conversation – an exploration of ideas, emotions, and the space the work will inhabit. This phase is about gathering inspiration, understanding your vision, and shaping an initial direction.

2. Concept Development
Sketches and studies emerge, a dialogue between intuition and intention. This is a collaborative stage where your feedback helps refine the composition, palette, and scale, ensuring the work resonates with you from the outset.

3. Creation
The paintings take form. Layers of pigment, texture, and depth unfold naturally across multiple canvases. By working in this way, I allow the best possible piece to emerge without the constraints of a single predetermined outcome. You will receive updates throughout, offering glimpses into the evolving work.

4. Completion & Reveal
The final works are revealed, and from these, we select the one that speaks most clearly. This stage includes final refinements, framing considerations, and documentation, ensuring the piece is ready to enter its new home.

Commissioning a work is an opportunity to engage with the creative process in a way that is entirely unique to you. It is not simply about owning an artwork but about being part of its making – witnessing its evolution, understanding its intent, and ultimately, living with a piece that holds a personal connection.
